Scan a file with ALL ANTIVIRUS/ANTISPYWARE Softwares..........
VirusTotal is a service developed by Hispasec Sistemas, an independent IT Security laboratory, that uses several command line versions of antivirus engines, updated regulary with official signature files published by their respective developers.
This is a list of the companies that participate in VirusTotal with their antivirus engines.
Just upload your file to that website and they will scan and tell you the results
- Free, independent service
- Use of multiple antivirus engines
- Real-time automatic updates of virus signatures
- Detailed results from each antivirus engine
- Real time global statistics
To scan, go to http://www.virustotal.com/
Please give your comments about my find
I was searching this type of website for days and finnaly got 1 and thought it would be nice to share with you all

ESET / Kaspersky lab, and many industry pro doesnt take this result as granted.. why not ??

It is a policy here at Wilders Security Forums that scan results from services such as Jotti, Virus Total or similar services, should not be posted unless requested by a forum staff member.
Too frequently people go out and find some piece of malware, upload it to one of those services, then based upon the results displayed, start a thread here to either praise or bash the anti-virus scanners involved.
Such results are for the most part meaningless. There are always questions about whether the sample was functional, truly malicious or corrupted in some way. Also of concern is whether the scanner at the service was configured properly, up to date, using the current engine on the right OS platform, was overloaded or not, and so on.
The detection of any one particular sample at some moment in time on a shared service platform is not really the way any anti-virus should be judged for overall performance. It's the record of detection over the long term in the real world and under real PC usage conditions that is important.
Threads like that, showing a screen shot or results of a specific detection made by one or more anti-virus products, and showing other products missing the sample, are not of any real value. Files can be found that any AV will get a hit on and others will miss. We could post threads like that, with or without Jotti or VirusTotal results included, all day long and still be none the wiser for it.
As noted in some past removal notices, those type threads are neither support issues or helpful. If and when the vendors receive such samples, they will act on them according to the priority they deem necessary. Some will add detection and some won't. We won't debate the merits of their sample by sample decisions in such threads here at Wilders Security.

Re: Scan a file with ALL ANTIVIRUS/ANTISPYWARE Softwares..........
@Harry Potter
MS do have an answer to this but that still only a server based product work mainly on Emails (which is the highest used platform top spread virus) called ForeFront...
it uses upto 8 different scanners from Symantec / Kaspersky / Trend Micro and so on to scan all emails under Network servers or at ISP end or at their Exchange server platform... so when u actually receive the email from a platform which had ForeFront installed you can be rest a sure all major AVS has already scaned the email..
Now what happens at Desktop end..
Do you really need 4 / 5 OS installed with 4 / 5 AntiVirus software ??
Not really... see when you scan a file it may seem harmless but which is detected as a virus at other scanner !! so does that mean your AVS (for example good ones like (KIS / NOD32) cant protect u ???
No see now days malwares mutate from a file which had suppose ABC MD5 or such identification to ABC.5 ... so just scanning the file may seem a harmless but now days most of this advance scanners are moveing towards the technology called Behaviour based scanning
So just leaving it on file system may show it harmless but as soon as u exicute the file a good AVS (NOT32 / KIS) quickly reads the exicution actions and identifies the actions as harmfull and will through up the worning towards u about the exicution of that file

KIS / NOD32 / BitDefender they are all good when you keep them up to date with MAX protection settings... now it comes down to personal choice where I personally like KIS

Re: Scan a file with ALL ANTIVIRUS/ANTISPYWARE Softwares..........
Choto, that was a really nice explanation. Have lately heard about Rudra, a behaviour based anti-virus that claims to find newly created virus without the need for updates. It is still in development phase. Do you have any idea bout it.
