Smile Changing The Command Promt Here Functionality In Xp


Open Regedit
Go to Edit Hkey_classes_root
directory

Expand Shell Click On Dos Here Change The Value Of Default To The Name Of The Program Now Expand Doshere Click On Command Double Click On Default Change It To The Program Path

Right Click On Any Folder To See The Effect
Not Working For Drives

Looks Similar To One Of Vishal Gupta Post But This Is For Xp

kushagra..nice tut ...but u can use tune up utilities too for this purose ...it can serve the purpose for both Vista n XP

First of all this key doesnt exist by default in XP. It can be added using 3rd party softwares or using regedit. So most of the ppl will not find it in their system.

And there is no need to change this key buddy. U can add ur own key. Also to add the app in Drive or folder context menu, use following keys respectively:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder
