Thumbs up The Snipping Tool in Vista.

situated in c\windows\system32\ is vista's 'SnippingTool.exe'. another useful in-built utility in vista to capture screen-shots. its shortcut can be found in the start menu>all programs >accessories.

it can take full-screen, particular window, any rectangle or free-form "snips" of ur screen & open it in an editor. here u can highlight parts of the screenshot and draw on it with a free form pen of different colors, thickness and tip styles. it is pretty easy to configure it as u wish to.

its appears 2 b a huge improvement over XP's built-in screenshot capability but yet still lacks some useful options like image resizing or timecapturing.

addl info here and a detailed how-to-config here at bleepingcomputer

No, it hasn't.

Print Screen takes a picture of the whole screen and copies it to the clipboard. Period. That is the only thing it does.

I am guessing you can capture screenshots of individual windows and selective areas on the screen with this new tool in Vista. And hopefully, you won't have to go through a completely warped process of copying the image onto an image editing program and then save it. I haven't used this tool though, so I have no idea how powerful it is.

Printscreen - Takes screenshot of whole screen

Alt + Printscreen = Screenshot of just the active window.

Been there since ages. All screesnshot apps do the same thing.

Snag-it kicks the ass of all such tools though
