Default Photoshop Tutorials: Quick and easy barcode

Once in a blue moon, out of circustances unexplainable, you may find your self in the urgent need to create a professional looking barcode. Then do this:
Create a new document [Some thing rectangular like will do great 300 by 100 ] with a white background. Add a new layer on top. Select your new layer.

Use the Single Row Marquee Tool [right click the first button on your toolbar], select a row near the bottom of the drawing area.

Then grab the paint bucket and fill the selection in black. Select the .. well selection. [you need to only click on the dotted lines]

Now sit back and let the filters do all the work for you.
Choose Filter > Noise > Add Noise from the menu. Type in an Amount of 400%, Distribution of Gaussian, and ensure that Monochromatic is checked.

Now go to Edit > Free Transform > Scale and move the centre node upward to about 1mm from the top. Then hit ENTER.

Now trim your barcode to usable dimensions using the free transform tool

To add the numbers to your barcode use the rectangle marquee tool to remove a small portion from the bottom. [a 0.5cm thick and bout 5cm long rectangle ner the bottom edge will do fine.]

Fill in some numbers [ive done letters] with the type tool. Courier new whti a crisp typeface works well.

Thats it you are done! It takes less than a minuite to make can could fool and suprmarket scaner.

My finished example:

Ive just coloured one of the bars red to match the digit logo.
Do you like it?!
