Need help on Cyber Security courses in India

Hi ,


I'm working in mid tier software company as a application support engineer have 13 months of experience .I wish to get become Online Security Analyst

I'm looking for some certification which can help me become "Online Security Analyst "

I'm Basically looking for some cost effective and preferably Self study certifications.

1) Certified Ethical Hacker (Course offered by EC-Council)

Pros : Very good Certification for beginners.
Cons : Self Study not allowed for beginners (Mandatory Certification Training too costly).Min 2+yrs experience is required in security field to take up certification test without mandatory training.

2) ASCL Certified Cyber Crime Investigator(Asia School of Cyber Laws)

Pros : Cost effective certification Rs.22,000
Cons: Courses content is very limited wrt to hacking techniques . ....not sure of hacking tools used are latest one or outdated one.

3) Ankit Fadia Certified Ethical Hacking Courses

Pros : Good for beginners in computers

Cons : Course content is very limited and very basic hacking techniques are thought .

I'm not sure of job opportunity available in India

Stay away from Ankit Fadia.
You can also consider CISSP, one of the best certifications for security proffessionals or try to get certified in Cisco PIX / Checkpoint firewalls along with software firewalls like MS Forefront and Linux Firewalls.

Stay away from Ankit Fadia.

AFCEH batch 3 version 5 qualified(77%). Took the test in March 2011 and am yet to receive the certificate ! Total course fee= 8k+ (7k course fee and 1k+ in calling Reliance Web World for certificate inquiries). The slides and video lectures were recorded at least 4 yrs. ago(hence most of the techniques are outdated/have been done with). Also, the test conducted at the end is very tough, and students generally answer only a few of them(kept tough deliberately for students to take the re-exam). I don't think I have anything left to say ! !
Take the test only if you have to show-off before others, cause Ankit Fadia is a popular youth icon !
