Re: Win7 features revealed: customizable UAC and integrated Accelerators
Hmm... Looks promising indeed. If they add more such thoughtful bits and pieces, Microsoft could have a winner on their hands. But surely, this also shows the glaring deficiencies in Vista, doesn't it? I mean, UAC came along with Vista and it has to be totally revamped in the next OS...
Heck, I'm being too cynical.

The 4th one says "Always notify me and wait for my response" while the 3rd one only says "Always notify me".

Re: Win7 features revealed: customizable UAC and integrated Accelerators
why can't they implement the same in vista...?
i hope MS makes a complete shift to 64 bit.
i have already stopped now using vista 64.
better than xp 64...
that was the only reason for moving to vista....

Nice features indeed I am eagerly waiting for the first beta of Windows 7, which is rumored to be released in WinHEC 08.

I think GUI will be changed soon in the future builds, MS is just doing core updates to the new features for now. GUI is going to be the next one to be updated.

Re: Win7 features revealed: customizable UAC and integrated Accelerators
^^ That was fixed long back.
@x3060 That should not happen and will not happen. One reason only, people cried like little babies when they were told that Vista runs smoother on 2GB RAM. Some almost wet their pants that how can an OS use 2GB, so if Microsoft was to do a similar stunt like only this or that, these people will be back to their antics.

Re: Win7 features revealed: customizable UAC and integrated Accelerators
^^ But compared to the 2GB when Vista released/was-about-to-release; 64-bit at the time of Vienna is a smaller price and its definitely a good step. For 32-bit users, few essential Vienna features can be integrated in future Vista SPs. That way, people will have nothing/negligible to complain.

Re: Win7 features revealed: customizable UAC and integrated Accelerators
hey, but vista x64 runs all 32 bit things very well, much better than xp x64...i don't see any noticeable difference in x32 &x64 while running 32 bit apps.
xp x64 had that "contact admin" thing when trying to uninstall programs , fixed though..but it was too nagging .
i strongly believe they should stop the old 32 & move to 64.its definitely the future.
moreover ,the ability to put more ram also works hugely in favour with x64. considering the games that comes these days with the min req of 2gb.
