I'm waiting for this one from Intel. And also DDR3 which is supposed to be popularized by Intel's Nehalem.

But AMD is playing the game, DDR2 Phenoms now, and DDR3 ones when DDR3 RAM becomes cheaper....strategy

Actually, its the same with their Denebs. Just look at it:

  1. The first 45nm Denebs would be DDR2 based ones.
  2. DDR2 denebs would support AM3 socket as well as AM2+ socket compatibility - nice upgrade.
  3. AM3 boards would arrive a bit later with DDR3 denebs.
  4. But AM3 socket supports ONLY Denebs - nothing older.

Intresting isn't it ? Cunning, simple and a nobody-has-anything-to-loose stratagy.
