Thats because Acer Inspiron and Dell XPS laptops are targeted at value concious and performance concious buyers respectively. They therefore HAVE to give enough horsepower.
Laptops like Macintoshes, and these high priced ultra portables on the other hand are targeted at a totally different audience. Here, price does not matter.
