sucks
this still can't make a 25k PC. Processor only takes away 6-7k the E7200 ... since 133 is 5k and around... in India it will be 7k

Cool, I guess it's worth upgrading to this CPU instead of a C2D W8200.
What I have planned right now is that by the end of this year I will upgrade my CPU to one with SSE4 (huge perfromance boost in workstation apps). E7200 looks nice enough. I just hope it will install on my DG31PR motherboard.

The Q9450 just offers too much value for money. I mean for 13.5k, 12MB cache, 2.67GHz, 1333 Mhz FSB, Intel was giving away too much. These people are just playing the game. after all they have no competition right now. So all they are doing are looting us. I also heard of their plans to launch Wolfdale-2M series. This includes Core 2 Duo 5xxx with 2MB of cache and FSB 1066 MHz. I only came to know that the Core 2 Duo E5200 would be with 2.33-2.53 GHz speed. |

Well, E7xxx does not support intel virtualisation technology. Meaning no 64bit virtual PCs for you. Are you OK with that ? If so, upgrade away, since E7200 and other 45nm processors DO support P35 chipset. (G31 is a toned down version of P35 plus 3100 gpu). AND, btw, have you ever considered overclocking as an option for your current setup ? If I remember right, there is this software from ATI for ATI card owners which functions similar to nTune allowing an easy OC.
