Default Yahoo, Time Warner's AOL Close to Reaching Agreement

searching for Yahoo +warner did not turn up a relevant result here

Quote:
April 9 (Bloomberg) -- Yahoo! Inc. and Time Warner Inc.'s AOL are close to striking a deal to combine their Internet operations, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the situation.

Yahoo would also propose buying billions of dollars of its own stock and is negotiating to display Internet search ads from Google, the newspaper said.

Under the terms of the deal, Time Warner would combine its Internet unit with Yahoo and take a 20 percent stake in the combined company, the Journal said. Yahoo would buy back its shares at a price between $30 and $40 a share, the newspaper said.

A final agreement would be offered to Yahoo shareholders for approval, the Journal said, citing the unidentified people.

Since it was a News that was more about Yahoo and Time Warner rather than MS, I created a new thread. If wrong, feel free to merge it

They would much rather opt for hostile takeover instead of paying $60bn. After all MS is not what it is for nothing!

If Yahoo stays determined, MS will never be able to buy Yahoo!!. Moreover, Google supporting Yahoo could well be a big blow to MS.

If Yahoo! buys AOL, it could well be end of story. Who knows, MS might then do a hostile takeover of News Corp.

^^^
mate your post sound like a bowl of maggi noodles

btw these are old news... talks of a deal with AOL closing on soon was probably just someone's imagination and the rumours of a joint bid by News Corp with MS was also striked down as highly unlikely..

yahoo is just a cat on the wall now as you can see from this post http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/04/12...aol-next-week/
