Second-gen Eee PC reaches FCC, SDK released
Apparently no day/night cycle can pass without news regarding or someway connected to Asus' Eee PC so now, we can say that the SDK of the open source Linux distribution loaded on the sub-notebook is out for everyone to play with while the second-generation Eee PC has reached the FCC aka Federal Communications Commission.
The 1.2 GB SDK can be downloaded from Asus' support site and includes the following:
- Xandros Desktop Open Circulation Version 4.5
- QT
- Eclipse
- QT plugin for Eclipse
- Debian packaging wizard developed by Xandros
As for the FCC trip of the updated Eee PC, it is detailed here and comes with quite a lot of pictures of the laptop's internal organs. The upcoming Eee PC 2.0 has a 8.9-inch LCD screen, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 8 or 12GB of flashy storage space and will come with either Windows XP or Linux.

Converting the price in Euro to price in INR, it is expected to be around 22000 23000.

M not gonna buy it man. I just like this one too. And the screen size doesn't matter much to me. So My current EEE is good for me.
BTW where are you from? I got it from Mumbai for 16.7k.

I saw the EEE PC today. It's not that bad @17k. But the keyboard is a little too cramped to type anything meaningful.

@DigitalDude
Dude, thank god that you aren't a Apple fanboy, and the eee isnt from apple!
(this is meant to be humorous )
(I do think that you love your hands, and wont be taking them under the knives any soon 'cause of the reason stated above )

looks like a white elephant this time. The 16gb model will cost atleast 26k in India after price conversion. Instead, its 1000 times better to go for Compaq Laptops in the same range that have GMA X3100 graphics that can even help basic gaming and vista aero and compiz fusion.

d'oh you dont buy eeepc for basic gaming.. vista aero... compiz fusion blah blah blah
you buy eeepc 'cos its small, slick gets the job done. dont comment on the size by seeing the photos.
if you feel that its 1000 times better to go for a compaq well do it.. the eeepc is not for ya

Re: Second-gen Eee PC reaches FCC, SDK released
I agree with gautham. Only people looking for great portability ll go for the eee 900.
Whereas in the case of the eee, the price was a major plus point.
BTW goobi, digital YOu ll get used to it if you use it for a day.
