Aci Semi-Notebook for 15k?

One more semi notebook's here , after the EeePC and Cloudbook,
This time from our very own indian company Aci.

Specs:
- 1Ghz Via C7 Processor.
- 512 MB RAM
- 7" WXGA TFT LCD
- 40GB HDD
- WiFi Ready
- Weight: 950gms

Looks like this is good news.

Chalo finally ACi is in the race too.
Also it will come to around 17-18k with taxes i think. But it has a 40gb hdd.

First, They are misleading people by saying laptop for 15k. It's an UMPC and not a laptop.
Second, it looks good in picture but specs doesn't look good. via processor with just 512meg of RAM and that too running Vista. damn. it's gonna crawl like anything.

Firstly, I dont think many people in india would understand if they said UMPC.
They're trying to sell it to everybody, not just tech junkies.

Secondly, who told you to use Vista on it,
Install XP or Linux.

I dont see the point of ur accusations.

Three things ...

1. whats the resolution of the 7" screen?

2. what about OS? i dont think it has vista preloaded..

3. battery life?

4. Any reviews? thegiven source leads to some french version of yahoo

Hmm.. its a good concept, but the small screen, and crappy proccy may not be that much accepted, although the small screen makes it feel quiet portale. It can be good for accessing internet, but any edition of Vista is a strict no no for such device in my openion.

Yep. There is going to be a Tablet version with touchscreen for 22k.

^^Did you check asus eeepc's website ? Its says "The wait is over....Asus brings its EEE PC in Jan 2008" ! Any news on that front ? Date,price etc ?
