PC World names the 25 Most Innovative Products of the Year
Source
PC World has put together a top 25 list of the most innovative products of the year 2007, noting the “Innovation”, the “Benefit” and a brief overview of each. All entries on the list are somehow tech-related and all are available either in-store or online right now. I personally can’t wrap my head around how the order of this list was devised, or how some products even made it on the list, but I’m sure the reasoning is clear to someone. Have a look at the list and let us know what you think of it, and what your top 25 would be!
1. Google Gears
2. Apple iPhone
3. One Laptop per Child XO
4. Time Machine, in Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
5. Amazon Kindle
6. NetGear Digital Entertainer HD EVA8000
7. HP TouchSmart IQ770 PC
8. AT&T Tilt
9. Facebook API
10. DeviceVM Splashtop
11. Toshiba Portege R500
12. Data Robotics Drobo
13. Hybrid Hard Drives
14. Eye-Fi Card
15. Panasonic TH-42PZ700U
16. Yamaha Tenori-On
17. Zoho Notebook
18. 'In Rainbows' by Radiohead
19. IOGear Wireless USB Hub and Adapter
20. Mint.com
21. Microsoft Popfly
22. Sprint Airave
23. Ask.com
24. eXpresso
25. Kodak EasyShare All-In-One Printers
After reading it, I was like...WTF

Re: PC World names the 25 Most Innovative Products of the Year
iPhone? Are they out of their minds? It can be in the top twenty, but definitely not Second. XO Laptop and the EEE must get better credit. KDE4 is not here at all. In Rainbows? Its such an old technique of publishing songs. M$ Popfly? Never even heard of it.
I guess PC World is definitely loosing it.

Re: PC World names the 25 Most Innovative Products of the Year
Isn't it computerworld who has done this list? Or are they the same? In any case, the iPhone deserves No. 1 position...

Re: PC World names the 25 Most Innovative Products of the Year
In Rainbows was an excellent initiative where the buyer chose to pay whatever he/she felt the album was worth. This has a lot of relation to digital downloads, DRM-free and an initiative to combat p2p downloads. So yes, I think it deserves to be in the list...

Re: PC World names the 25 Most Innovative Products of the Year
Most of the guys who posted replies in this thread are clueless trolls who search the forum for the word 'iPhone' and just have to make their presence felt by posting derogatory remarks. Believe me, it just makes you look stupid.
I am not pointing fingers at anyone in particular though.
How many of you who said that Radiohead shouldn't have made it to the list have a clue about what relation they have to technology (before goobimama explained it, of course)?

Re: PC World names the 25 Most Innovative Products of the Year
^^
Thats very bad of u aryayush. even if u define urself as a mac genius, it doesnt make u stand above our heads. remember everyone starts from the begining. I dont know what In Rainbows and i dont even care to. i didnt comment anything on it. Jus not knowing about it, doesnt make me a fool, at the same time knowing something doesnt make u great. writing derogator remarks like that make u seem a fool not us. so always think twice before u post such things. sorry if i have hurt u, but i always had a high opinion of u, being a good contributor in many threads. do keep it up.

Sure it doesn't. But having no idea about something, yet passing comments about it sort of does.
btw, I like your avatar.

goobimama very eloquently put forth the point I wanted to make so I won't repeat it. Just read his reply.
I would, however, like to make it clear that I have never professed to be a "Mac Genius" or any other sort of genius, for that matter. That is one word that I can never honestly associate with myself.
There is this community on orkut where mostly Indian Mac users post their doubts and stuff and I try to help them out. Someone once said that I was a "Mac Genius". I kinda liked the sound of it and then I found out that Apple also called their in-store experts "Mac Geniuses", so I set it as my avatar and custom user title. I hope that clears things up. Thank you very much for the appreciation though.
Coming back to the topic, it is very clear that I was only pointing at those people who posted in this thread just to foist their opinion about the iPhone not being eligible for these end of the year "best of" lists. Even though we can clearly see that the iPhone has grabbed the best honours in almost every such list, these people still continue to crib about it not deserving it. Everyone else is supposed to be a fool. There's a very apt quote for such people, "When everything is coming towards you, you're clearly in the wrong lane."
Just some food for thought. Think about it.

That's becasuse every idvidiual has the right to decline such list & not to follow it. Like I don't feel this list & iPhone at number 2 is justified it...it's my personal opinion & I have all the right to bash this list here...simple

^^nicely put. this is a democratic country and everyone has the right to show their feelings ande emotions.
Anyways aryayush, sorry if i have hurt u, but i still think u shuldnt have started abusing others. u simpley got back what u threw.
But this is a vicious chain, u abuse me- i abuse u u start again- icarry on, gains nothin except bandwidth, time waste and unnecessary bp raise. So, the solution-- simple. i aplologize to anyone whom i have hurt. but still a
piece of advice- "think before u leap"
Have a good day.
yours friendly,
Gowtham
