France To Unlock Apple iPhone

Apple needs to unlock iPhone if it wants a French connection.
If Apple wants its iPhone to enter the French market, it will have to abide by the French rule and unlock its iPhone. Apple has no issues with this in France. The company is reportedly willing to unlock its iPhone exclusively for France under a tie-up with French carrier Orange.

French law doesn't allow for locking such devices. Apple put in a lock on iPhone so that it could earn revenues through another channel -- subscription. The carrier pays Apple a chunk of earning from a customer using iPhone. Apple also gets share from operator when a user buys new connection for iPhone. Apple wanted to keep a check on new subscription and log its user base through locked phone, but it will have to bend in France as the law doesn't allow such locking.

However, in the USA, there is no such law and Apple is struggling against hackers who keep on unlocking iPhone.
