I dont know how to react when i read something like this, i mean its good and all for the business and stuff but then again, Nokia in India sells mobile phones whose prices spread across all the milky way, with such pricing options available and with Telephone Service Providers almost always tying up with Nokia, i defintely saw this coming, to compare the US market to India's market, im sure 40% of their total number of mobiles just account to 1100 sales in India, to look at the market with a broader view, i think in terms of the the quality and quantity, the Indian market's graphs have existence at the extremes, thats all.

That is truth, because NOKIA have very different qualities/features than other mobile companies,it has a very big market all over the world, but in India has a great great market,All the users prefers nokia rather than others,no problems or difficulties happens in the nokia, but now these days some problems of exploding of battery due to overheating is happened, this is due to some inattention during the making of nokia batteries by japan company.

But nokia phones cant cope up with the amount of memory that is given out by the manufacturer, like most of the Nseries phones (I've kept my pals' N70, N72) are kinda slow. Even 6600 started crawling as soon as one used a 512MB card with it. I think symbian is to be blamed too.
But one of my friends has a walkman phone with 1GB card (I dont remember the model number) and another has Samsung slider phone with 1GB uSD card and both work flawlessly even after an year of usage. And my 6600 slowed down after 6 months with 64MB card in it.

^ What exactly is meant by "keeping the phone clean"? My 6600 never had any virus and most of the time 7-8 MB in memory card and ~5MB RAM was free.
And I am talking about new N70. Music player takes 7-8 seconds to open and play a song whereas in samsung phone (with more number of songs), the songs play within 2-3 seconds flat!! I dont know which OS is there in samsung but its fast. Even if its symbian in any case then its fast as compared to nokia's version. And I am not talking whose fault it might be, it might be a slow processor or crappy OS but in any case the phones are slow when compared to their Sony/Samsung counterparts. And if I am not mistaked then the prices of Nokia phones fall more rapidly than other phones.

Older nokia smartphones were slow. A slow processor, low ram and an os which couldn't efficiently utilise all the available hardware was a sure fire recipe for slow reacting phones. But all that is history now. Newer nokia smartphones have a fast processor, sufficient amount of ram and an os which is capable of extracting and utilising every bit of performance that the hardware can generate. These phones are nearly as fast as any non-smartphone. Examples are nokia 5700, N76, N95, E90, etc. As for nokia's s40 phones, they've always been lightning fast. Actually i feel SE interface is actually slower than Nokia s40 due to all the fancy animations that SE insists you must see no matter how much in a hurry you are. As for SE smartphones, they're just as fast (or slow) as nokia smartphones. Even the latest P1i is no great shakes as far as speed is concerned. The higher amount of ram has only enabled it to run more apps in the background without running out of memory. The speed is the same as P990i or W950i.

yup, there are gud nokia phones only above 25k.
The only gud one to say below 25k is N73. But its not the case with SE. The only downside of SE is their small screens. They're makin it small to reduce size nd weight.

I hate nokia phones.. the name of the phone itself makes my skin crawl, not becuase it's bad but because of the way that people blindly go behind these phones. The marketing hype that nokia makes actually makes a very large portion of the Indian population blind! yes, after seeing this constantly bombarding ads on ever 2nd commercial break, it automatically is installed into your mind that Nokia is the best. Hence, lot of buyers just go for Nokia without even comparing the feauters with other phones.
The only phones that I have seen from Nokia's end that are worth a buy without an intensive compare is the N series but not to forget that it has been plagued by it's own issues. However, the point that I'm trying to make is that there are lot of other brands out there in the market that offer better performance and features for the price of crappier Nokia phones. It's absolutely dumb to say that Nokia is the best however saying that more nokia phones are sold is right but that doesn't make it the best. For buyers, my only advice is compare, compare and compare before you buy a phone. No matter which brand or model, compare your phones with all the phones available in the same category before you make your purchase! Especially nowaday there are a million sites to compare them online. One of the sites is www.compareindia.com I am not saying that Nokia is a $hi!y phone or anything but to say that nokia is the best is only foolish or fanboyism |

Secondly... did I blame Nokia?????????? Maybe you didn't understand what I wrote, in that case, I'll mention the jist of it. I was just advising buyers to do their research before being blind and ending up with a phone that is inferior to a cheaper model of a different brand. That's all... cheers.. |
