Video site YouTube proved its worth as a law enforcement tool when a New Zealand thief was convicted of stealing after being caught on video posted on the Internet site, news reports said recently.

The man was taped slowly circling a store, stealing a laptop computer and slipping it into his overcoat and stepping out of the store in the South Island town of Greymouth, local media said.
