iPod and iPhone causing flash memory shortage

Earlier this year prices for NAND-based flash chips were on the rise because of low supplies and the expectation that flash-hungry devices like Apple's new iPhone and iPod would eat up what little surplus already existed in the market.

yeah, they are spectulating that prices of flash memories may rise. so if 4gb flash drives, w960i (when released) etc. in the near future start costing a bomb blame it on apple!

ps: anyone noticed that apple gets an 8Gb chip at $6??!!!!! whereas the market price is about $11 now... wow!! almost 50% discount per chip!!

dude its jus the bare nand chip. no external circuitry not even an interface circuit. 8Gb ka bare flash chip kya bina elec. ckt ke dimaag mein lagyega!!!??? hehe...

i fully agree wid you. apple and SE should lower the prices. even the w960i should be cheaper. thats too high a price...
