YouTube to Evolve to Widescreen Mode

However, it seems that the folks from the YouTube team might cook a widescreen format in order to meet all the requirements and allow the full screen mode to work on all monitors, Gizmodo speculated today. "We found it a bit odd that the thumbnails in YouTube's search results are now in a widescreen format. Could YouTube be preparing for a jump to widescreen video?" they wrote today.

YouTube is one of the websites that really managed to change the face of the Internet because it tends to become a real video-based encyclopedia as it stores an incredible amount of clips. YouTube was acquired by Google in October 2006 when the search giant paid $1.65 billion, one of the biggest investments ever made into an Internet company. Since the acquisition was confirmed, YouTube grew up a lot, becoming one of the most popular services on the Internet along with its father Google.

Moreover, it seems that YouTube is going to evolve even more because the Mountain View giant plans to build a new flavor of the online video sharing service that would host tutorials and professional content that can be accessed only by paying for it. The Google officials didn't confirm the rumors but this would be the next search giant's step that would bring a considerable amount of money to their accounts. Obviously, this would also represent a major step into the corporate market in which Google struggles to evolve and become a major competitor in every corner of the world.
