Thumbs up MS Announces 'TechMela 2007' in Mumbai

Microsoft India has announced the dates for its Technology Event, TechMela 2007, in Mumbai. The event will span over four days, from June 13-16 2007 at Renaissance, Powai. TechMela is an evolution of the erstwhile TechEd, Mobile and Embedded Developers Conference (MEDC), IndiMIX and IT Professionals’ conference run by Microsoft.

With the theme 'Connecting experiences through technology', TechMela will cover technologies such as Mobile, Embedded, Next Generation Web, User Experience, Security, Infrastructure Management and Unified Communication. The event will address Developers, Designers, IT community as well as Technology and Business Decision Makers.

Techmela will see more than 150 sessions delivered by 98 speakers comprising industry experts, Microsoft’s partners and senior leaders from Microsoft Corporation in two sub-events: TechMela Business, which is targeted at the technology and business decision makers and TechMela Technology for developers, designers, architects, IT professionals and academicians. Technology presentations, scenario showcases, experience zones and discussion forums are some of the key activities of Techmela.

Tarun Gulati, General Manager - Developer and Platform Evangelism, Microsoft India said, "TechMela is going to be the biggest technology event from Microsoft, bringing together the best minds in IT. We are deeply committed to the success of the Indian IT industry and TechMela is the perfect place for technology professionals to meet and discuss the latest technologies with experts from the industry and from Microsoft. We aim to present a 360 degree perspective of how technology has touched the lives of people worldwide and wired nations to bring them closer. This is also a means to continue our endeavor to educate the IT community about Microsoft’s current and upcoming products and showcase how they can maximize productivity while working on Microsoft’s platform."

They do happen. I dont know if you are aware of Microsoft Communities / User Groups. If you are interested in regular events, you can join the local User Group there in Bangalore. Visit here: http://groups.msn.com/BangaloreITPro

For Mumbai public, it's http://groups.msn.com/MumbaiITPro

Unfortunately there is none at Delhi at the moment but if someone likes to initiate such activities out there, can leave a feedback / query / suggestion at mumbaiitpro@hotmail.com

Though the one posted there is over, events keep happening. Keep checking and there may be one event next week on Exchange Server 2007.

Cheers!
