20 Million Junk Emails Blocked Daily at Windows Live Hotmail

Spam is an everyday occurrence in our lives. And it is as ubiquitous as it is ineffective. However, junk emails are flooding inboxes every day with an antediluvian momentum. In this context, email
filtering technologies make the difference between an unusable email account and the ability to access you messages. In this regard, Microsoft has applauded the effectiveness of its Sender ID Framework e-mail authentication technology.

The third annual Authentication and Online Trust Summit was the stage where the Redmond Company unveiled the conclusions of a two-year long study over the performances of Sender ID Framework. Microsoft revealed that the adoption rate has increased threefold in a single year. As a result, Microsoft's email authentication technology helps fend off deceptive email from no less than 8 million domains world-wide.

“Spam and phishing attacks continue to undermine user productivity, trust and online confidence. The business value of Sender ID is now providing tangible benefits,” said Ryan Hamlin, general manager of the Technology Care and Safety Group at Microsoft. “Widespread adoption of the Sender ID Framework, continued collaboration with industry, businesses and governments, and a commitment to user education are all promising steps toward protecting the inbox. To help stem this tide of deceptive e-mail, businesses must implement today to protect their brand, their customers and their employees.”

Microsoft's email authentication technology protocol identifies and blocks some 20 million deceptive messages on a daily basis for Windows live Hotmail alone, according to Microsoft. The Redmond Company emphasized that 50% less spam has made its way into Hotmail inboxes in the last year, although the actual volume of spam has increased over 40% in the last 12 months.

some where i read that more than 60% of every day email is spam !! and that too some years ago.. !! now though service providers have good strong filetrs but still servers has to take the load of sending the receiving spams !!
