22 April, Intel Cuts prices. E6600 for 214$

According to the latest plan of Intel Desktop Processor, Intel boosts the FSB from 1066MHz FSB to 1333MHz, and launches brand-new Core 2 Duo E6050 family in the third quarter this year. Earlier the media has criticized that 1333MHz FSB couldn’t give a significant enhancement on performance, but friends from Taiwan manufacturer told that, instead of 1333MHz FSB, the selling point of Intel Core 2 Duo E6050 is its better price/performance ratio with aim to compete against new AMD’ STARS processor due to come out in the second half of this year.

The first 1333MHz FSB Core 2 Duo contains three models including E6550, E6750, and E6850, with core speeds of 2.33GHz, 2.66GHz and 3GHz respectively. In addition to supporting VT, ESIT, and XD BIT and other functions, the new versions are added with Intel Trust Execution Technology, Intel TXT for short, to go with the new generation of Microsoft operating system Vista, and to offer solid solutions for information security.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6850, E6750 and E6550 are issued at very favourable prices, $266, $183, $163 respectively per 1,000 units shipped. The 1333MHz FSB Core 2 Duo will also be followed by a low-priced version of 1333MHz FSB Core 2 Duo E6540 with basically the same specifications of E6550: a core speed of 2.33GHz, supporting VT, ESIT, and XD BIT and other functions, but with neither Intel TXT nor support of vPro platform. This series has not priced yet.

Besides, following the second Core 2 Duo E4000 family member, E4400, due to be released on the April 22, Intel will roll out Core 2 Duo E4500 in Q3, with a core speed of 2.2GHz, 2MB L2 Cache and 1066MHz FSB, priced at $133 per 1,000 units shipped. Price of E4400 will be reduced to $113 per 1,000 units shipped after the release of E4500. And E4300 will be faded out of the market.

What deserves attention is that there’s been a large cut in the price of Intel Core 2 Duo E6050 family compared with that of the 1066MHz FSB version which has a similar speed, but Intel revealed that with the prices of Core 2 Duo E6400/E6420, E6300/E6320 standing at $183, $163 per thousand, if E6000 family also cut prices, it will destruct the price strategy of Core 2 Duo E4000 and all its previous products. Moreover, since Intel Core 2 Duo E6050 family needs the main boards to support 1333MHz FSB, it will also make some room in the market for E6050 and E6000 families. Therefore, the company won’t make any adjustment to the price of Core 2 Duo E6000 family.

Wrong! It should be some where near Rs 9500. $ is not Rs 50 bro

Last week it Rs was strongest at Rs 41.xx. Although Re is somewhere 43 at the moment. I am taking it as Rs 45

and by the way 22 April was never Intel Official Date...that was just market speculation. The new pricing has been in effect since 20th April

Not declaring in public is not good for consumers. It gives more liverage to dealers. What ever the case may be, soon we will find these price effects at theitwares.com as the site is run by digitians.

I would rather wait for Quad Core and DDR 3 which is coming next year.

Well, all have their opinions

Even i read E4400 and E6600 were the best overclockers as compared to E6420. But i am still sticking to E6600 since i already bought DG965WH.
