Default Intel to drive down Core 2 Quad price in Q2 07?

Intel may be set to drive down the price of its Core 2 Quad Q6600 four-core processor in Q2 2007, reducing what it charges volume buyers for the chip by up to 37.7 per cent, industry moles have claimed.
Intel has yet to announce the Q6600's launch price, but leaked information points to an entry price of $851, above the top-of-the-line Core 2 Duo but below the slightly faster quad-core Core 2 Extreme QX6700. But according to sources cited by DigiTimes, the Q6600's price will fall to $530 in Q2.

Earlier this week, it emerged that Intel is preparing to launch the Q6400 in Q3 2007, possibly in the $400-500 price range. The alleged Q6600 price cut puts the faster CPU's price in line with the Q6400's claimed price tag.
Intel will presumably be looking to tackle AMD's quad-core desktop launch, due mid-2007, but it's telling that even the chip giant doesn't appear to believed quad-core chips will take be big share of the market this year.

Proposed price cut table:-

^^^ source

Any concrete ideas as to this will come into effect immediately this month onwards in India as well or does anyone have a tentative date of price cuts in India by Intel? If this price cut takes place then one may expect the prices of c2d E6300 & E6400 to come down to as low as Rs.7000 & Rs.9000 levels followed by mid range E6600 to come down to very competitive Rs.11000 - 12000 levels.
Also with the introduction of low range of C2D procs like E4300 & E4400 price of these being around Rs.4500 to Rs.5500 competition from Intel is all set to take over AMD....are we going to watch another series of price war between the two giants?I also believe that Nvidia is also planning a long awaited release of its complete 8xxx range of GeForce cards and we can expect some price cuts from Nvidia aswell.....DISCUSS.

^^^ that's wat i wanna know when exactly is the price cut gonna be effective in the Indian market....remember last year when the prices of AMD X2 processor's suddenly fell after core2duo was launched in India? Is Nvidia likely to drop its prices after April 17th?

Well one thing is for sure that if the price takes place and it surely will then it will be worldwide...
As for time limit..i think it will be around 2 months at max...even agent 001 hinted about the price cut in the last issue...

In about a month Intel is going to launch three new low-cost processors in the Core 2 Duo family and reduce the prices of the already existing dual-core CPUs. These upcoming events appeared the primary topic of our today’s discussion that will not only focus on the detailed performance testing of the newcomers but will also offer extensive comparison of 18 low-cost dual-core processors.

No, things are not well priced in Europe, anywhere, dont expect much, Asia has the good prices ( forget India, I'm talking about rest of it..lol..), also North Americas

AMD will drop prices on 9th april, to as much as half of original prices of many processors.

Intel will announce price drop on 18-19th April along with launch of E6320....etc

After both the price drops are done, many AMD processors will be better in price/performance ratio to Intel in the Mid segment, at Stock, so AMD will be in scene again.

How on earth is the layman supposed to differentiate between these? Must be thoroughly confusing people who aren't familiar with the numbers...
