Thumbs up Unlimited storage from Yahoo!

Source: http://yodel.yahoo.com/2007/03/27/ya...ity-and-beyond

Quote:
"As Yahoo! Mail approaches its 10-year anniversary, I’m the lucky one who gets to announce that we will begin offering everyone unlimited email storage starting in May 2007. To mark the occasion, I checked in with David Nakayama, our group vice president of engineering, for some perspective on this milestone. In case that name doesn’t ring a bell, he’s the developer of RocketMail, one of the world’s first webmail products, which Yahoo! acquired and relaunched as Yahoo! Mail in 1997."

Well definitely space will be increased among all international yahoo! mail users. It should go same as last when Yahoo! upgraded everybody to 1GB.

even 500 MB is more than enough
they know that we are not going to use that much until they increase the size of the attachement files from 10MB

Rediff & Yahoo should also consider giving the facility of pop3 support. Otherwise increased storage space doesn't make any sense.

rediff is cheater.... in new system of inbox, they removed option of last email button... suppose u want to go specific page or last page... u have to click "next" button oftenly.... so on every page, ur bandwidth is used due to advertisements..... sucks.... even takes more time for transfer emails sometimes.....

Just wait and watch. You'll be surprised how competition can force anyone to change.

There was a time when people was running for storage, not anymore. Now they must offer features that rival anyone else

Why dont they offer POP3 access, and increase allowed extension size so that someone may write a utility like Gmail drive for yahoo mail

I think he said about for free POP3 access. The comapnies currently offer only paid POP3 access except Yahoo! and Gmail who currently offer free POP3 access.

Yeah, well, I thought he was talking about Yahoo! because the topic is about them.

AOL offers free IMAP. Doesn't anyone here use AOL? I do.

Yeah, I know. That is what I said. "They do offer POP3 access."

@ankitsagwekar, Yahoo! gives POP3 access for free. Not SMTP though. You can install YPops for that.
