Cool FireFox Extension:QuickNote

What is QuickNote
QuickNote is a note taking extension slightly modeled after "Post-It", "Sticky", and the "Quick Notepad" plugin for jEdit.

Features
  • QuickNote makes it easy to write down your notes:
    • It's easily accessable with the Ctrl+F7 shortcut or using the toolbar button (Firefox and Thunderbird only).
    • Saves your notes automatically; you won't lose any data.
    • You can use drag and drop or the "Send to QuickNote" feature (available in context menu when you click a link or select some text) to easily log the text along with site's URL and the timestamp.
  • QuickNote is customizable:
    • You can customize the look of your notes and make them easily distinguishable.
    • You can select the number of notes, and it's going to be unlimited in the next version!
    • You can get a different set of icons for QuickNote.
  • QuickNote can open in a separate window, in a sidebar or in a browser tab.
  • QuickNote runs in many applications: Firefox, Thunderbird, Mozilla Suite.
  • QuickNote is available in English, Spanish, Slovenian and Russian languages.
  • There's even spell checker support if you also have Spell Bound installed.
Download: QuickNote 0.6.0.3,

I hope something comes up to copy/paste even images.. all html code (not just take notes).. and save on the desktop itself (or post it online).. something like the Scrapbook addon.

If you are on Linux then you should try looking at KDE's Basket note pads. It will not put all this stuff exactly on your desktop but will be manage it really well. It is a boon for people who are into research and need to keep track of lots of data.
