Cool EA Makes Game Soundtracks Available on iTunes

Snoop Dogg's version of The Doors' "Riders on the Storm" finally available

Electronic Arts announced that the music from its games catalog will be available for purchase from the iTunes Store. From Madden NFL to Burnout to Need for Speed, every song that can be heard in the game can now be purchased on iTunes including exclusive mixes, non-album cuts and previously unavailable international tracks. Today marks the world debut of the cover version of The Doors' Riders on the Storm that Snoop Dogg remixed exclusively for Need for Speed Underground.

"As our culture goes increasingly mobile, music fans have demanded to take our game music with them. They have been looking for a singular destination that houses all of EA's music - and this is it," says Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Marketing at EA. "Our game soundtracks have now officially transcended their consoles. All songs, all mixes and all exclusives from all nations: if it's in the game, it's now available for fans to own. We consider this to be the next major step in evolving the music discovery experience."

The Need for Speed Carbon soundtrack includes the riff-heavy power of such bands as Kyuss, Eagles Of Death Metal, UK's Metro Riots and Australia's Wolfmother, 'Electro' acts Ladytron and Goldfrapp, Australia's The Presets, Canada's Tiga, and urban 'Grime' featuring Pharrell, UK's Lady Sovereign, Roots Manuva and Sway, Japan's melody, and Philadelphia's Spank Rock.

The soundtracks from the Burnout series features tracks by artists that include Fall Out Boy, All American Rejects, Franz Ferdinand, The Ramones, Jimmy Eat World and Yellowcard.

This season's edition of Madden NFL features tracks from a mix of hip-hop and modern rock acts including Bishop Lamont, 30 Seconds To Mars, Audioslave, Panic Channel, Lupe Fiasco, AFI, Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday and Rise Against, as well as nearly a dozen original NFL Films themes by production team Da Riffs.

The songs are live in North America today and will be available soon throughout Europe. EA says it will continue to add songs, scores, themes, beats and ringtones from EA game franchises past and present including NBA LIVE, FIFA Soccer, Command & Conquer, Medal of Honor, NASCAR, SSX, Battlefield and more.

So now no more searching for sound tracks for EA games or looking for converters to convert them into mp3 formats...
Pretty good move by EA and I am sure iTunes will be the real winner in the end along with we people of course

there are many Utilities (just around 1MB in size), with which you can extract all the songs from the games.

so as usual EA's another "Strategy" to make Mo' money will FAIL miserably

(one of its previous Strategy- > Selling Car Bundle Pack (unlocker) for NFS Carbon).
ppl just play the game to unlock those cars, coz it only takes around 3 hours to finish the game or use other's "save file".

Yeah i too agree with that pathiks..
rather than develop some good games they just try to refine old games with a polished look...NFS carbon is a perfect example....just what MS did with Office 2007...

Oh, c'mon! There isn't too much Microsoft can add to Office anyway. Name me some features you want that are not there. Personally, I cannot think of any.
And the look of the 2007 version is awesome. It is much more functional now. I am eagerly waiting for the Mac version. Just have a look at the screenshots, it is much better than even the Windows version.

Office is one of the very few products that Microsoft has got right.

I never said that Office 2007 is not a good software..
I know it is the best in the market but i am trying to emphasize the fact that it doesnt support any new features...only an improved look...MS has to look for new innovations for its products like its done for its OS...
So does EA need to do the same!
