There is a huge difference in the price that people in the US and the UK are paying for Windows Vista the new Microsoft Operating System. As an example of this, in the UK a full copy of Vista Ultimate would cost you £350, in the US it would cost you £195. The US version of Vista is exactly the same as the UK version. There is no difference. Therefore I can see no reason for there to be such a huge difference in prices between the UK and the US other than Microsofts belief that the UK customers will pay more than their US counterparts. I ask people to sign this petition in the hope that the Prime Minister will bring pressure to bear on Microsoft over their pricing as it is my belief they are simply overcharging the people of the UK and therefore are ripping us off.

At least UK ppl's buying power is equal to that of amaricans. What abt us Indians? how many petitions should we file . 8800GTX in India is 35,000 , but in US it is mere 16000 WTF!!! , and if we consider the buying power this 16000 has very little value to US/UK citizens but comaritively very huge for us .

So that is the exact reason to pitare. In India it should not cost more than 1500, otherwise poor Indian will continue to pirate due to no fault of theirs.

yeah true.but itz mostly becoz of taxes levied by our government. cant only blame nvidia for that.

generally they don't pay the money, they go to market straight and purchased OR borrowed pirated softwares from known persons,thinking ........ we have no need to make a petition

This is No reason to pirate !!! if windows Vista cannot be bought try the versions which you can buy.. Even starter edition or windows Xp home edition and order the free SP2 CD from Msoft ...

and Prices of Ultimate are as high as 17800 for ULTIMATE x64 and 15800 for x86 but its Vista ,, so i dont think that we indians are overcharged in this case..

FACT :

With every mew comp. in US a OS is bought and here in india we think that the assembler or dealer wil come up with all the things pre-installed..

If we also try using Genuine then many viruses and SPYwares etc will be less in our systems.. COZ the original disc is pirated in such conditions that many pirated versions are full of bugs...

BUT .. PRIcing by MS cannot be changed like this & if we want free softwares or under 1500-3000 then go for Open source softwares...

they are good enough to fill POOR indian need.. and by the way...

THE INDIANS RUN MANY HIGH LEVEL COMPANIES.. so WE indians are not POOR.... WE ARE PROUD INDIANS...
