The choice is quite simple.
If u can afford PS3 (around $600) and it's games (around $60 each) then go for PS3 otherwise go for PS2.

ps3 is technically superior to ps2. if u have cash then go for the ps3. there r 2versions. one for 500$ and the other for 600$ with 120 gb hdd. but there is one disadvantage that the ps3 does not have vibrating controllers.
