Adobe releases Sound Booth Beta

Soundbooth is a brand new application built in the spirit of Sound Edit 16 and Cool Edit that provides the tools video editors, designers, and others who do not specialize in audio need to accomplish their everyday work such as:

Editing audio quickly.
Cleaning up noisy audio.
Visually identifying and removing unwanted sounds.
Recording and polishing voiceovers.
Adding effects and filters.
Easily creating customized music—without musical expertise.

although not a sound guy here, but i downloaded it yesterday, still trying to figure out things. Will try to give a review, & comparision to Sound forge 8 soon

Good thing adobe is making some general purpose apps from ground up, this & then lightroom, could be a boon for home users if given out for $30 or similar prices

its in the very begining of its development, how can u compare it to a full blown product?

well, this product at this stage is not worth reviewing

The interface is directly taken from After effect 7, it's docked.

Right now, it doesn't open mp3, mp4...the only way is to decode the file to wave

there are no presets or effects extensions given yet

& it's saurav, not gaurav

Adobe is bringing out some great applications that revolutionise the way way we work. Hats off to the Adobe devloper team. Their tools are the best in their corresponding category like PhotoShop CS 2, Dreamweaver, Flash etc.

Exactly! Every milestone begins with a small step. After revolutionizing Photo-editing, its now time to enter the Audio segment...
It's not easy though, as there are already many established players. Let's wait and see.

audition and soundforge are for the sound engr guys. soundbooth is more kinda soud editing with video.
entrily different apps they ae going to be, apple has couple of such apps.
