Windows XP (official) SP3 Pushed to 2008.
Microsoft has further delayed the release of Service Pack 3 for Windows XP, moving expected availability from the second half of 2007 to the first half of 2008. The change came silently in an update to the company's service pack roadmap.

Re: Windows XP (official) SP3 Pushed to 2008.
Dont we just love these service packs! I don't know why but there is a sense of disbelief everytime there is an delay for the SP3. Whatever be the reason behind the delays - since SP3 is gonna be like the last real support for Windows XP definitely. MS must be too busy fine tuning vista, delaying the service pack for XP. And in a way, its their way of saying - Vista is here, What are you waiting for?
The only reason I am waiting for SP3 would be to save me some effort integrating ryan's post sp2 updates everytime!

..... ur wrong windows 98 support was discontinued earlier this week ..... so it wud be unfair to accuse MS of forgetting older OS ..... they hav only pushed it back so that Vista sales will increase .... they havnt forgotten it

yeah really XP with SP2 is very stable. Believe it or not i havnt had any probs with XP, although its been more than a year since i got my HP Pavilion preinstalled with XP+SP2. I just dont get it why people still grumble about stability. Windows XP is the best thing for a home user.... cant say the same about servers though.
