Default Mission Impossible type CD Drive

remember the famous dialogue of Mission Impossible "this message will self distruct in 5 seconds" .... here a CD drive that does something similar ....

Thanks to Plextor’s new PlexEraser, you won’t have to microwave your unwanted CD/DVD discs — that contain sensitive data — anymore. This piece of hardware “makes a CD or DVD unreadable by re-recording over the lead-in and data sectors of a write-once disc rendering all the data unusable” in just under six minutes. Pricing and availability have not yet been announced.

I'd have enough brains in me to break my CD into half or rub it on the ground with my foot. But if its really really sensitive data, there's nothing as good as the sewage.

i'd rather keep the CD safe with me if it contains sensitive data rather than losing it.

i too thought what was the company thinking when it actually went ahead with something so stupid .... just break the damn cd ... but then again if u think about it .... cds are plastic ... recyling ..... keeps the environment clean .... u throw cds in the sewage ... break em ... with this v can recycle em to keep r environment clean
