Default Vista delayed......yet again

SEATTLE (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp.'s long- awaited release of the upgrade to its flagship Windows operating system will likely be delayed again by at least three months, research group Gartner Inc. said on Tuesday.

The research note, released to clients on Monday, said the new Windows Vista operating system is too complex to be able to meet Microsoft's targeted November release for volume licence customers and January launch for retail consumers.

Source: Reuters

considering that they delay the launch further every second week,it'll be a major acheivement for MSFT if they manage to launch Vista at all.

I think Vista will come out in the market in Q3 of 2007, and I am going to test it in the year 2008. For now I am fine with XP sp2.

I think Microsoft might really get this one wrong considering most of its hyped interface such as Aero is already up & running on Mac OS.

This just doesnt seem worth until WinFX is implemented. For a change it seems Microsoft is doing catch up on all fronts such as OS, browser technology & multimedia at one go thanx to innovative developments from Mac OS, Firefox, Google etc.

The advantage to MS is that most of the ppl dont use MAC, its the lesser preferred OS.
Like i said, i dont care whenever Vista is launched, coz i m not gonna try it.(I M NOT GONNA KILL MY SYSTEM RESORCES) .WinXP rocks...and i'll use it till i get a new PC

microsoft is in a real fix coz if this time a stable OS in terms of security is not released then surely its market share will take a beating.
So M$ is taking its time

Looks like MS made too many promises to the people reguarding Vista. They are trying to make Vista into something a windows cannot be. They are trying to make a platform which has a very weak base into something that cannot be broken.
They want to make a OS that wasn't even designed to be able to use internet into something that will make full use of internet's capability. This is not possible unless they rewrite everything from scratch.
Hope they come out with Vista in 2007 Q3 so I can buy new hardware. Not that I intend on running Vista at all. Just that it will make most sense to buy hardware then.

The reason for the delay is the compatability.... They are trying to make compatible with the previous versions...It came in the DC some time back.

Maybe it has something to do with the development of upcoming processors from Intel & AMD.

They want the OS to be ready to the extent that it can utilize these hardware to the maximum.

Does it also have something to do with PS3?!!

well i would like to tell you all about vista. I tried vista on my system its really very heavy on the system for that mattre it eats up ram space with in no time. vista works ok with 1gb RAM with 512 mb ram its not sufficient so better you upgrade your system to high end before trying vista.

vista beta version is available on net

No doubt vista will be heavier then xp but what u have tied was a Beta , and if u remember xp's beta almost killed the systems that time , but final xp ran pretty good .
