nVidia Release Revolutionary New Driver.

NVIDIA has released a new driver. It is numbered 81.98 and is of course WHQL certified. It has a few application capability fixes including corrupted textures in Civilisation 4. It fixes some problems with FEAR and Apple's 30-inch display including some rendering problems with Need for Speed Most wanted and some other major games.

The driver adds the support for Geforce 7800 GS AGP cards as Nvidia thinks that they might sell quite few of those. You can mix vendors when you use the cards in SLI and the driver includes TV out and HD support for SLI systems. The dual core CPUs should be running even faster and Nvidia added support for V-sync on Direct3D games when running SLI system. It is an evolutionary driver and Nvidia still can not do any serious H.264 acceleration with its drivers. We could wait up to Cebit to get H.264 driver and there is more and more of the HD content. There are still no indications when that might happen.
