Default Wi-Fi Internet connectivity for Rs 400!

If the venture of a kannur-based Internet Service Provider (ISP) can be taken as an upcominf trend, keralites may soon be benifited with the boon of 24 x 30 days of high Speed connectivity for just Rs 400 or less in the near future.

Close on the heels of massive Akshaya e-literacy campaign and internet training programme, the state is poised to witness an imminent for domestic as well as commercial use if the initiative of the kannur-based youth clicks.

Net Visiion, a private limited company which began as a cable TV service provider 12 years ago, has come out with a very competitive tarrif rate for internet connectivity with an amazing speed and data download limit.

The company uses Singapore-Based Wi-Fi wireless technology to provide internet connectivity on a user-friendly tarrif rate."At present we have only 300 odd domestic customers at thalasery in Kannur district. One of the scheme we offer is unlimited axxess for the whole month to our domestic users for Rs 800. The download speed is 120 to 512 kbps and the data download limit is 3000 MB for this scheme," says Vinesh Thuyyath, chairman and CEO of Net Vision.

"However , our gigantic rivals in the area iffer just 64 kbps download speed for the unlimited usage scheme. The download limit is several times greater in our package. The monthly charge for the same is also higher than what we offer," says Vinesh.

Unlike other technologies, the customers neet not purchase modems for internet connectivity or use teliphone lines for using wireless technology-based internet connectivity.

"The rate for internet usage would come down further once we expand our customer base. Our existing 24-hour unlimited connectivity package for 800 could be reduced to Rs 400 once we expand our customer base to atleast 1300," Vinesh told 'Indian Express'.

As part of expanding its customer base, Net Vision has begun to set up more towers in kannur. It is also getting rready to give cheaper and robust internet connectivity in Akshaya ceneters in Malappuram.
