Actually India will soon become free of so called STD charges which means calls to any place in india will be local. Reliance is the starting soon all operators will launch this tarrif

But i think like in reliance's case these facilities won't be available to old customers so even if others launch it the old-plan users will not be benefited.
Anyhow reliance will be better than airtel which sends a"court notice" after 3 days of late payment....

this scheme is a really old one from reliance (for the postpaid users) .. i have been having this for around 9 months now .. its only new for the prepaid users. New joy 499 plan has been in existence since ages.

One related article was in times of india about shri.Pramod Mahajan that he allowed full mobile services on wll phones of reliance users without asking reliance to pay the requisite fees when he was the commerce minister!!
