New Samsung Galaxy S III ‘mini’ coming soon

Samsung today confirmed that they will be revealing a 4-inch version of their flagship Samsung Galaxy S III later this week. While the phone doesn’t yet have a name, Samsung mobile chief JK Shin said that increased interest in Europe for a 4-inch smartphone is what led to the company deciding to release a smaller version of the S III.

While no other formal details were given, full specifications and images of the phone have already leaked online, with website MobileGeeks being the first to post both the phone’s specs and images.



Display: 4.0 inch Super AMOLED display with 800 × 480 pixels, 16.67 million colors, capacitive touchscreen, multi-touch.
CPU: STE U8420 dual-core 1.0 gigahertz.
Wireless standards: HSPA 14.4/5.76 900/1900/2100, EDGE / GPRS 850/900/1800/1900.
Camera: 5 megapixel with auto focus and LED Flash, Resolution 2592 x 1944 pixels / VGA front.
RAM: 1 GB.
Flash memory: 16 GB with MicroSD card slot (expandable to max 32 GB).
Operating System: Google Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean.”
Connections: MicroUSB port, 3.5mm Kopfhörer-/Headset-Anschluss.
Wireless: Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi a / b / g / n 2.4/5 GHz, DLNA, NFC (UICC , optional).

No word yet on pricing and availability, but this should be released soon after Samsung makes the official reveal.

Man that's what I too want what the hell can we do with this 4.0" screen, I was looking forward for more like S II Design and a 4.5 or 4.6" Screen at least and a 2500mAh battery which S II does int have

lol apple stretched Iphone 4S and made iphone 5 and samsung decreased the height of galaxy SIII and making SIII mini ....what a copy...better name it some galaxy SM

Only good thing in S3 mini is, it comes with JB OOB.

Excellent strategy by Samsung to retain in number 1 spot.

the main difference between S Advance & S3 Mini is 4.1 JB, 256 MB RAM and possibly better chip set. Its getting too much hype for this package. Its a nice replacement for Galaxy S & Cousins at 20K price range.

I think the reason Samsung didnt add much to S3 mini is because it would come close to successor of Galaxy S2. They may want to keep a position still open for Galaxy S2 successor, much like the HTC One S. Despite the advertizing, Samsung is pretty careful about not adding too much to a mid-level priced phones which might damage prospects their Flagship products. It sure was never meant to come any where near iPhone 5. What they shouldnt have done is releasing S Advance before hand or advertize it as being a miniS3 but its a perfect successor of galaxy S.
