Sony Ericsson Xperia™ arc S (coming soon)
This breaks my heart but yes there is a new xperia phone coming up, slated for release this October. The Xperia™ arc S looks identical to the original arc. The only notable difference I have found is the upgrade to a 1.4Ghz processor. Yes, still no dual core.
Among all the phones that are releasing right now, the xperia honestly, doesn't stand much of a chance. I say this despite owning one. However it is the by far the sexiest phone I have ever seen, save the one in the movie X-men (which I don't think is a phone anyways) and the Moto Razr V3. However Sony makes one of the coolest looking phones and since they have to balance competition they always make up for it with crappy hardware. But still IMO this is the best looking phone on the planet as of yet. (below 50k)

I think making the processor more efficient should be more of essence than going faster.

Actually we still do have "normal" mobile phones available today, can't tell much about future though.

The basic features like calling and texting are degrading in experience. Maybe thats why.
Back during Nokia's honeymoon period: Buying criteria- Battery backup, Signal reception, music/video player, message inbox capacity
Now: fastest processor, biggest screen, most apps/games.
Every phone in my house is being plagued with redundant reception and battery backup. A 30k bucks worth of a pager is sad.

Re: Sony Ericsson Xperia™ arc S (coming soon)
and now every new mobile is having a bigger screen than its predecessors. Galaxy S = 4", S2 = 4.3", S2 LTE = 4.5", Nexus Prime = ~4.65", S3 = 4.8" (if you follow the trend). what are they upto? unite the mobile & tablet sector into something like mobile-tablet? don't the manufacturer themselves use mobile? don't they know which size works best

Re: Sony Ericsson Xperia™ arc S (coming soon)
I have huge hands (em 6'1") and even I struggle with a 4.2" screen on my arc, during single handed operation. I wonder how the average population handles it. Its just unusable.
