Default Dangerous WebGL Flaw Puts Firefox and Chrome Users at Risk

I am just fed up of these breaches of security and hacks and all.... This time the attack is on a Hard-to-fix Browser Security Flaw. Will I have to abandon Internet altogether!

Quote:
Security researchers have discovered a dangerous vulnerability in WebGL--a Web standard used by Firefox and Chrome to deliver 3D graphics within the Web browser. The flaws may be exploited to enable an attacker to run malicious code on the system, and could expose sensitive data.
...
What is the risk? WebGL enables Internet-based programs to access the graphics driver and graphics hardware--exposing low-level core functions of the system to possible malicious exploits. The graphics hardware and drivers are not developed with security in mind, and are built with an inherent trust that the code that can access that level of the system must be safe.

Well, my exclaimation, of being fed up, what only after I saw that news too!

btw, I was trying to turn off WebGL for the time being..
In firefox, I found these steps from here: How to disable WebGL in Firefox 4

Quote:
1. Type about:config in Firefox address bar and continue with warning dialog.

2. Type Webgl in the Filter box double click “ webgl.enabled_for_all_sites” and set its value to False.

3. Restart Firefox browser, WebGL is now disabled in Firefox 4.
But unable to find out steps in Google Chrome. Can someone help?

^ Yeah opera is really great. Totally love Opera's Unite feature. The only reason I stopped using it was that I was unable to import my data from Firefox to Opera...and I'm too lazy to reconfigure Opera all over again.

Oh Ya!? With so much hacks happening lately, I am not sure, if ANY thing is safe now! And wait until I post some of my annoyances with Opera, for after which I stopped using it.

Doesn't change the fact that it is the best browser around barring Firefox and excluding Linux version.
