Intel launches Intel Insider feature for Sandy-Bridge systems
Source: Intel launches Intel Insider
Intel has launched Intel Insider, which is a feature, built in Intel's Second generation Core processors a.k.a. Sandybridge, which will allow you to download and watch protected High Definition streaming content on your computers, according to a report.
This technology also offers something that has never been offered before; it allows you to download a movie even before its date of release and securely purchase it even offline so that you can watch it as soon as it is released in theatres without having to wait to download it on that date. This is known as 'proactive queue'.
Speaking on the occasion, Intel's Managing Director for South Asia, R. Shivakumar told PTI, "The launch of Intel Insider in India is absolutely befitting considering it is the home of one of the largest film industries in the world -- Bollywood. With Intel Insider, people can watch their favourite movies in HD at their homes on the day of release itself."
Intel has tied up with Hungama.com, which will serve as a platform for download and streaming of Bollywood and international movies. These will include blockbusters from Yash Raj Films, Paramount Pictures, T-Series and Reliance Home Video.
To start using this technology, you must have a PC powered by any 2nd generation Intel Core processor with in-built graphics, you can visit any participating Internet movie site, browse through the large selection of content and buy or rent the desired content. Of course, you will also need a high speed broadband connection.
