Creative seems to have entered the tablet market bringing in the Ziio 7-inch tablet. The tablet has normal run-of-the-mill features but is priced pretty low. Running on the Android version 2.1 Éclair, it can get better with an update for the OS.
The tablet has a customized ZiiLABS ZMS-08 HD Media-Rich Applications Processor and comes with the X-Fi Crystalizer & Expand audio enhancements. While the Crystalizer helps enhance audio clarity by restoring lost detail, the Expand acts as an amplifier. Ziio also has the following features:
7-inch Resistive Touch display with 480 x 800 resolution
Wi-Fi enabled, mini USB
Bluetooth 2.1 EDR (with A2DP)
Front facing VGA camera
8 GB/ 16 GB expandable up to 32 GB
The tablet also features an accelerometer and has an HDMI-Out port that lets you watch 720p HD videos on your HDTV. Ziio supports quite a few audio formats including AAC, FLAC, OGG, MIDI and more. The video support includes H.264, WMV9 and MPEG4 formats. Strangely, neither DivX or xvid have been mentioned as supported.
The 8 GB version comes at a price of $249.99 (approx Rs. 11,410) while the 16 GB sets you back by $269.99 (approx Rs. 12,350). The Ziio will not be reaching Indian shores, for the time being at least.
