I am very happy with AVG Free 8.5, but Panda is free for a day, so why complain?

^Even avast home edition is suitable for internet security. The parental control feature is good for parent's only and the only thing it ensures is that the kids can't watch pr0no @ home. NOD32 AFAI have experienced is light and fast and has a good shield against drive by downloads.

Hahaha... AVG rocks as it is free. Otherwise I have had as many false detections by this AV as is humanely possible to imagine. ALL these AV's team up with companies and detect each companies keygen's as viruses, even if they are not infectious. In all my testing, I have often found that a genuine virus misses them, but the illegal keygen is often falsely implicated. Now, I have no problem if they catch all viruses, but they don't, so what is the point of an AV if it does not catch a real virus?

If free AV you are talking about, then Avast > AVG 8.5 resource hog. But I won't even suggest Avast to anyone.

The best are NOD32, Avira AntiVir and Kaspersky. Rest all suck IMHO.

i will not recommend anyone avg and avast. but avira antivir rocks...

Krow try norton it dosent detect any of kegen or patches is in my computer as torjon or virus.

Panda internet security is famous in north america as kaspersky is famous in asia and K7 is famous in Japan.

But norton is what i use and it's really rocks for me cause:

It's has highest rating of detecting malwares.
It's not resource hog even in my computer which is now 5 yrs old and and runs on P4 and 376 MB RAM.
it dosen't detect any of kegen or patches as torjan.
I surf on many warez and crack sites and it dosen't blocks any site as other security product often do. (It has intrusion prevention engine which blocks malware from entering into computer but never blocks any site.)

^I am done with AV's. Moving to Linux now. Seriously, this is nonsense. Hell, KIS even found 37 viruses on the Digit DVD when there were none!

well, Kaspersky's false positives are certainly less than those of AVG who was notorious earlier. Regarding resources and detection, no-one can beat NOD32.
