Thumbs up Anyone using new Knowledge search engine : Wolfram Alpha

Quote:
Wolfram|Alpha (also written WolframAlpha or Wolfram Alpha) is an answer-engine developed by Wolfram Research. It is an online service that answers factual queries directly by computing the answer from structured data, instead of providing a list of documents or web pages that might contain the answer. It was announced in March 2009 by British physicist Stephen Wolfram, and was released to the public on May 15, 2009.

This new site attempts to catalogue as much as world information as possible. Its search results will shock regular Googlers because Wolfram Alpha’s usefulness depends entirely on what you ask it.

It does'nt reduces its functionality. Google sorts through all the pages on the web and tells you which one to read, Wolfram Alpha reads them itself and then tells you the answer. Interesting is'nt it?

this is really in beta type stage...

searched for "supernova" , and it shows - Supernova (2005) , Assuming "supernova" is a movie...

don't they feel that there is a astronomical object too with the same name ?

for me google is still better as it showed first link to supernova[wikipedia] ( that has all things a normal user needs to know about )

Wolfram Alpha is the future. Not that 'it' is the future but Google and others too are have been changing the algorithms at times and Google, along with its huge index, might turn out to be in the market what Wolphram Alpha is as a lab-project.
