Internet Explorer 8 RC1 released

Microsoft has just released the Release Candidate 1 of Internet Explorer 8. As you all know, IE 8 is a very solid attempt from Microsoft to catch up to the standard of Opera & Firefox when it comes to following web standard. So far it has been a beauty in real world as far as the new browser engine is concerned. Its fast, easier to browse & nevigate with.



Now comes a surprice & the best part. IE 8 RC1 now comes with its own Ad blocker in the form of "InPrivate Filtering" which compliments "InPrivate Browsing". It is not as good as Adblock Plus for firefox but it is still a good attempt when combined with IE Pro 2.24.

Sadly it's still not available for Windows 7 Beta. They say that "Windows 7 users will get an updated IE8 with the next update of Windows 7." (SOURCE: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/200...available.aspx)

Err... RC1 was released more than a month ago. In fact, the IE browser on my laptop has a newer product ID (98211-600-0011903-00107).
What's so great about this version?

Fails the Acid3 test though...only 20/100.
Luckily at least it passes the Acid2

But I suppose MS wasn't aiming that either...

this is an RC release, dont expect too many new features. Expect plenty of bug fixes

True Bro. But I had downloaded it and it is much faster then the beta version which I was using earlier.

Not exactly. RC means a release candidate and an RC becomes a final release with few minor bugfixes if there are no major bugs found. And I don't think features are implemented after an RC release.
