Default 3G for delhi in 10 days..
MTNL has announced to launch its 3G service for Delhi within next 10 days....and for mumbai it'll be in feb..

nops....till now...its now only 4 trial basis.......and in a particular area, not for public use......
This news means that its now available 4 public use after a week or so.......

video calling is possible with 3G...
2MBPS or even more for browsing internet.....
Better network....

If they provide it for Rs 1.5k maximum for unlimited download & connectivity on Mobile as well as a PC then I am gladly ready to pay for it.

3G should be free service..
They already have charges for diferent data plans. you pay the same ammount for download with 3G or with edge.

for sure....now m paying around 1k/month for 256kbps ul...2Mbps for 1.5k ul...i`ll latch on it....

dear brother, 3G is expensive to impliment, both License as well as setting up infrastructure is costly for the service provider. it will take years for the service provider to recover the invested money which comes from the customer like you and me..

Have they published the tariffs? It would be nice if they are cheaper.. Their upfront payment for buying 3G was damn higher, obviously, data charge will be higher!

Is there any printing mistake in MTNL press release? I think it may be 10 MONTHS instead of 10 DAYS....
Aare aur kitne din lagega delhi mein start karne ke liye?

Wait one more day. MTNL will offer the service from Feb 5, and it also promises the cost would be under Rs.1,000 a month.

Two ads on the TOI paper. It says, on bottom right, to check tomorrow for what exactly Jadoo is (I guess for tariff etc.).

So, it appears that we'd need to wait till Feb 6 for the complete tariff and further details.

I think it might just be unlimited. Considering they offer unlimited EDGE for Rs 350 + taxes.
On the sad note. i just downgraded from 3g Nokia 6630 to 2.5G Asus P320.

i think they'll not gonna to offer unlimited plans...........it would be like pay as u use.......!!!

BSNL has upgraded all their towers here and have succesfully tested 3G here in Jhansi. 3G Services will start by march

Neither do I. Prefer getting the newspaper at early morning by myself (market, ta-da), morning walk aur newspaper ak sath.

Tariff plan:



What I understand by this is, user will be charged one-time activation fee of Rs.500, and monthly rental of Rs.599. Voice calls and data downloads charges are extra. Data downloads will be available at monthly rental of Rs.149, Rs 5 per MB for usage.

MTNL expected that 3G services (HSDPA) would have minimum speed of 384 Kbit/s and maximum of 3.6 Mbit/s. I personally tested the speed few weeks ago (when it was available for free, trial launch), and I was able to get 1.4Mbit/s speed.

Services is currently available in these areas (will soon cover entire Delhi and NCR):



I believe Mumbai will get the 3G launch after a week.
