Sapphire has gone the same way with HD4670 & releases it in GDDR4. The final specs are:

• 512MB og GDDR4 memory.
• 128-bit memory interface.
• 320 shader processors.
• 750MHZ of Core Clock.
• 2200 MHZ of GDDR4 memory(200 MHZ more than GDDR3 version).
• Native CrossfireX support.
• Direct X 10.1 support.

Damn.. My friend just bought 4670 with GDDR3 only 3 days ago.. wonder how much the performance difference will be!!

I wish somebody releases something REAL, like a DDR3 version.
Such products actually make sense.

AMD said they added DDR3 support in RV710 and RV730 because they hoped that companies could release DDR3 versions, which, compared to GDDR3 are much cheaper and consume less power but only slightly slower.

Well i thought DDR4 runs low on power consumption because of lower voltage for DDR4. Performance won't be a drastic but r u sure about the power consumption?

^^Its GDDR4 not DDR4.

Anyway, I am not sure about power consumption but I think DDR3 on HD4670 is a waste. Its supposed to be a low wattage card and HD4650 with DDR2 and lower consumption seems much much better.

I mean b'cuz of the 128bit mem interface, DDR2 HD4650 and DDR3 HD4670 hav barely any difference in performance, it wud be more fruitful if a DDR4 HD4830 came out for the price of an HD4850.

well that would be more waste because the 4850 would still outperform it & no one will buy it even if it consumes less power.

This is a perfect product for a decent card. I mean company can always perform experiments with the non-moving item & this is a good example of it.

i just bought 4670..dd3 though...had a plan to go for 9500gt, decided against it at the last minute.

i hope it gives good performance ..paid 5.5k (tax included) palit.

that was max budget for me.

Don't worry dude, ur card is equivalent to 9600GSO or sometimes 9600GT. This is way better than 9500GT!

i never had a budget to go for 9600gt...i was planning to wait and accumulate 10k and buy 4850..but that will take long time.and expenses are on high side too. so i thought,better to spend now than wait and not even getting to buy even this.
