Rediff.com has launched a new service called
Web-in-Mail that enables users to read online content in their inbox. The service could be particularly useful for people whose office doesn’t allow them access to internet through a browser. According to Rediff, Web-in-Mail supports email clients like MS Outlook and Outlook Express as well as the Blackberry mobile devices.
To use the service, one needs to send an email to
browse@webinmail.com with the URL (
http://ankit360.blog.co.in/) of the webpage, which the user wants to access, in the subject line. On receiving the mail, Rediff would send a reply mail with the webpage content to the user's inbox.
According to Rediff, clicking a hyperlink within the webpage received automatically composes another mail. On sending this mail another reply mail is received with a new webpage. The Web-in-Mail service also allows users to search the internet. For instance, one can send a search query [google:mumbai terror attack] in the subject line and result mail is received via email.
