generic host process error

whenever i connect to internet by bsnl bb.

i get the msg that "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

when i click close net disconnects and again i have to restart my computer to be able to get connected.

Which version of Windows you are using? Is your Windows up-to-date?

i m using windows xp sp 2

maybe it is not updated.
i'm afraid 2 do live update


no option is working for me.

Hmmm.... There can be various reasons for this svchost.exe error. Can you try installing these security updates:

installing SP3 helped me....

Well i had also encountered this problem a long ago.... which i found out was due to some virus( it was Jeefo32 or some other...) So download antivirus updates and try scanning your computer(preferably in boot mode, if supported by AV )
