help with command line problem

hello, i installed xp sp1 onmy pc and ever since whenever i type even a single alphabet in cmd the pc restarts . what the ....
i'm totally annoyed

help any expert out there

How about installing SP3? Your windows seems to be ancient.

yeah i installed sp2 but still the problem is there

I dont know about your problem, but SP3 is newer than SP2 and SP1. Even if your problem isnt fixed by my suggestion, you can rest easy knowing your comp's more updated than it was.
