Default Folder virus


Folders are shown as .scr files.So i am using Avast antivirus 4.8.It detects it but the entire folder and its contents are deleted even if the folder contents are not infected.I cannot open the folder also.Any remedies or should i format the entire harddisk. Plz reply!!!

.scr file extension is associated with Screensaver files in Windows. It seems that some worm named 'Win32/Worm.VB.NPF' is causing the problem here. I did not find a definite solution for the worm yet since there is no information found in the web.

hey,
i already faced similar problems like this..
just install AVG 8 and do full system scan..
