Question EXPLORER.EXE problem

Hi Frnds.....
Pls help me wid this problem.....

I just cant access any folders and/or files from the dvd,cd and any removable disc like pendrives.
An error like "the referenced memory location cannot be found...EXPLORER.EXE and APPLICATION.EXE error"
Later when i again access those folders, it opens up but the same thing happens for folders inside...

I have scanned using AVAST antivirus but didnt find any virus..
There is no such problems wid my HDD...only wid the DVD/CD & Pendrives...
PLS Solve this....its really irrating me

Its either a virus or a trojan.
Do these:-
1.Download Spybot Search And Destroy and install it, then update it(must) and scan.

2.Start you PC in safe mode and see if the error still occures, if it doesn't that means there is a problem with your start-up softwares remove any that you don't need and reinstall the others.
If the error still occures reinstall(repair) XP as it indicates EXPLORER problem.

P.S- My minds telling its a start-up software, any new ones you installed/reinstalled lately?
