Default keyboard does not type corresponding letter


if i use shift & type the symbols my keyboard doesnot interprete the correct letter..for instance if i type @ it writes "..how do i fix it?

Try changing the Keyboard Layout to English-US.

Control Panel - Regional and Language Options - Languages - Details

Guess your keyboard settings is defaulted to UK. Add the US layout and remove the UK layout. You can also access the same, if the language bar is available in the TaskBar.
